THE TOOLBOX

Make a softwood tool box with a handle and inset base using traditional woodworking hand tools and corner rebate joints.

At the end of the course you will have a tool box to take home and a strong foundation of woodwork skills that will enable you to carry out basic woodworking projects at home or to progress on to our Woodwork for Beginners Level 2 classes.

LEARN HOW TO:

  • Saw straight and square
  • Accurately mark out and cut a joint
  • Use a range of hand tools such as chisels and planes effectively
  • Fit and finish a woodwork project

COURSE LENGTH:

4 Days or 8 Evenings

SKILL LEVEL:

1 – Suitable for those with no previous woodwork experience or those wanting to improve their skills

COURSE TIME OPTIONS:

Monday, Thursday or Friday daytime classes 10.00am – 3.10pm

Monday, Wednesday or Thursday evening classes 6.20pm – 8.45pm

Weekend classes (both Saturday and Sunday) 10.30am – 3.40pm

All classes must be taken consecutively

HOW TO BOOK IN:

Monday evening, Monday daytime and Weekend courses can all be booked through this website page using the drop down menus above. We run waiting lists for cancellation spaces on these courses – to be added to a list please email hello@themakershedbristol.co.uk. Please consider including your telephone number, as spaces sometimes become available at short notice. These course are just for Level 1 students.

We operate individual waiting lists for places in all other classes. Please email hello@themakershedbristol.co.uk to be added to one or more waiting lists. We will contact you when you get to the top of a list and we can offer you a start date for your course. Please also provide a phone number as sometimes spaces become available at short notice. These classes are mixed level with the majority of students at Level 2 / 3. Level 1 spaces only become available occasionally so please be prepared for a wait and if you are able to choose another option we would advise you to do so. Having completed a level 1 course at a another time, you would get priority as a returning student for a Level 2 space in one of these classes.
