Make a softwood tool box with a handle and inset base using traditional woodworking hand tools and corner rebate joints.
At the end of the course you will have a tool box to take home and a strong foundation of woodwork skills that will enable you to carry out basic woodworking projects at home or to progress on to our Woodwork for Beginners Level 2 classes.
LEARN HOW TO:
- Saw straight and square
- Accurately mark out and cut a joint
- Use a range of hand tools such as chisels and planes effectively
- Fit and finish a woodwork project
18 teaching hours (4 days or 8 evenings)
1 – Suitable for those with no previous woodwork experience or those wanting to improve their skills
COURSE TIME OPTIONS:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday daytime classes 10.00am – 3.00pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening classes 6.20pm – 8.35pm
Weekend classes (both Saturday and Sunday) 10.30am – 3.30pm
All classes must be taken consecutively

HOW OUR CLASSES WORK:
Our Monday daytime, Monday evening and Weekend courses are just for Level 1 students and the student:tutor ratio is 8:1
All other classes are mixed level, which means you will likely be in a group of people all doing different projects. The student:tutor ratio is 6:1.
Tuition is given on an individual basis at each student’s bench to ensure a fully COVID-secure working and learning environment.
