BRING A PROJECT

Bring your choice of re-upholstery project and work on it over a weekend under tutor guidance. If you have a piece of furniture at home that you’d like to re-upholster but aren’t able to commit to weekly classes then this is the course for you.

We will plan your weekend in advance with you to make sure that we have the materials you need for your project and advise you about what work you can do at home beforehand to get the most out of your weekend time with us.

LEARN ABOUT:

      • Re-upholstery : strip and re-build your upholstered furniture
      • Eco friendly and natural upholstery materials
      • Effective use of upholstery hand tools such as webbing stretchers
      • Shaping using natural fillings, tacks, tension and fabric
      • Upholstery cuts and folds

Please be aware that we do not allow the use of chemical varnish/lacquer removers in the workshop.

Any necessary frame repairs will also need to be carried out in advance of the weekend as this will hold up your upholstery work. Please contact the Makershed to make arrangements for this before you book.

COURSE LENGTH:

1 Weekend – Saturday 10.30am – 4.30pm and Sunday 10.30am – 3.30pm

SKILL LEVEL:
