Upholster a small pine stool frame using traditional upholstery techniques and recycled and environmentally friendly materials
At the end of the course you will have a stool to take home and basic upholstery skills, which you can then build on in our Upholstery for Beginners Level 2 classes
- Eco friendly and natural upholstery materials
- Effective use of upholstery hand tools such as webbing stretchers
- Shaping a seat pad using natural fillings, tacks, tension and fabric
- Basic upholstery cuts and folds
9 teaching hours (2 days or 4 evenings)
1 – Suitable for those with no previous upholstery experience
COURSE TIME OPTIONS:
Over a single weekend – Saturday and Sunday daytime classes, 10.30am – 3.30pm
Tuesday evening classes 6.20pm – 8.35pm
Tuesday daytime classes 10.00am – 3.00pm
All weekly classes must be taken consecutively

INCLUDED IN THE COURSE FEE:
All materials (including the stool frame), tutoring and tool use – there are no additional costs unless you choose to bring your own top fabric
HOW OUR CLASSES WORK:
Our weekend upholstery classes are just for level 1 students and have a student : tutor ratio of 8 : 1.
Our weekly upholstery classes are mixed level with a maximum student to tutor ratio of 6 : 1, which means you will likely be in a group of people all doing different projects.
Tuition is given on an individual basis at each student’s bench to ensure a fully COVID-secure working and learning environment.
